[A blurry splotch of white and red fills the screen, before the camera zooms out to show a Ponyta standing in an open field. It sniffs the air curiously before it faces the camera again, and trots over as a girl speaks in the background]

Hey, careful there-oof!

[The Ponyta's face fills the screen and the camera jerks around wildly, before focusing on a large, blue eye. It blinks as it zooms out again, finally revealing the owner of the pokegear: a young girl in her early teens, with an angular, heartshaped face and long, bright pink hair. The pokemon nuzzles against her, and she sighs as she strokes its nose with her free hand. Compared to a human, it appears quite small; about the size of a miniature horse. Once it settles down, the trainer turns her attention to the camera. Her brow furrows as she begins to speak]

Is anyone out there? I just got done with that professor guy, and – look. I don't know what you want us to do with these “battles”, but first of all, I don't have any time for that. I've got more important things to worry about right now than some silly game! And second...

[looks back at her Ponyta] Even if I was interested, these guys don't really look like fighting material to me. Maybe if they were bigger, or stronger, or....huh?

[Pauses, and blinks while Ponyta moves away – there's a rustling sound as it nudges the bag off-camera. She sighs, and the camera jerks a bit as she pulls it away from him]

...look, all I need is a way out of here. If any of you guys know something... well, I'm all ears.

[and off goes the transmission]

[...huh, he has a funny way of talking. The way he speaks makes him sound kind of like the outdoorsy, live-off-the-land survivalist types, like the kind you only see on TV or movies or read about in books. Then again, considering what he had to say about animals earlier... well, it probably isn't that out there]

Sorry, but even if there isn't an easy way out, I'm not just going to sit around and let us be let out, either. If nobody knows how to get out of this place, does anyone at least know who brought us here?

It doesn't sound like anyone knows. Everyone just seems to wake up in that house in New Bark Town.

All right, all right. But what are we supposed to do around here? Just wander around and try not to get killed?

[It's hard to see in the poor lighting, but he shrugs slightly.]

I guess. I'm looking for a place to live for however long I'm here and wait until I go home.

Hey, have you been to any of the towns on the map? I'm still stuck near New Bark Town, so I don't know what they're like, but... well, they're a start, right?

I've been to some of them. Most of them are really big and too loud and stink. Azalea Town didn't seem as bad as the others, but I still wouldn't want to live there.

[Of course, his criteria for a good place to live include there being no other humans around, so take all that with a grain of salt.]

...so, not a big city kind of guy, huh? If you're looking for some peace and quiet, well, you could always go back to New Bark Town.

[kidding, kidding. Though, in all seriousness, she's not sure what to tell this guy - especially since she still doesn't know much about this place.]

I've never lived in a town and being to the ones here doesn't make me want to live in them. I'm going to look around the Lake of Rage to see if there's a small cave or some kind of shelter to live in.

"Lake of Rage"? That doesn't exactly sound like a nice place to live, if you ask me. But... good luck. I really do hope you find something.

[It does sound kind of weird, but to be honest? She's not exactly confident in what's normal, either. If he can find a place to live out there, then more power to him]
