Duel 01 // Video & Action // New Bark Town
[A blurry splotch of white and red fills the screen, before the camera zooms out to show a Ponyta standing in an open field. It sniffs the air curiously before it faces the camera again, and trots over as a girl speaks in the background]
Hey, careful there-oof!
[The Ponyta's face fills the screen and the camera jerks around wildly, before focusing on a large, blue eye. It blinks as it zooms out again, finally revealing the owner of the pokegear: a young girl in her early teens, with an angular, heartshaped face and long, bright pink hair. The pokemon nuzzles against her, and she sighs as she strokes its nose with her free hand. Compared to a human, it appears quite small; about the size of a miniature horse. Once it settles down, the trainer turns her attention to the camera. Her brow furrows as she begins to speak]
Is anyone out there? I just got done with that professor guy, and – look. I don't know what you want us to do with these “battles”, but first of all, I don't have any time for that. I've got more important things to worry about right now than some silly game! And second...
[looks back at her Ponyta] Even if I was interested, these guys don't really look like fighting material to me. Maybe if they were bigger, or stronger, or....huh?
[Pauses, and blinks while Ponyta moves away – there's a rustling sound as it nudges the bag off-camera. She sighs, and the camera jerks a bit as she pulls it away from him]
...look, all I need is a way out of here. If any of you guys know something... well, I'm all ears.
[and off goes the transmission]

[Some people might actually like being in Johto and not have any real reason to want to go home, after all.]
If by "around here" you mean the natives... I don't think you're going to get anything useful out of any of them. Ever. Save for advice about how to get along in this world, but even then you're better off asking the network. When it comes to finding out things about the mystery of how we got here or how people leave, we really are all completely in the dark. All we have are wild guesses.
Well, a wild guess is still better than nothing. What do you think is responsible for all of this?
[After all, she seems like she has a good head on her shoulders, if nothing else]
... Well, except maybe the Rockets.
Wait, hold up. Who are these Rockets you're talking about? The Professor and "Mom" over there didn't say anything about them, and I didn't see anything about them in the book we got, either.
Of course, they haven't displayed anything remotely powerful enough to pull in people from other worlds, so it isn't likely it's them. It's just something we can't rule out.

Okay, so what about those legendary pokemon you mentioned? Like, what makes them different than regular pokemon?
In a word, power. Legendary Pokemon are so absurdly strong that they can cause phenomena the likes of which I've never seen. Some of them can actually twist the weather around them just by being there, and those aren't even the strongest ones. The problem is that we don't really know much about any of them. They're elusive, some of them are probably one of a kind, and several of them don't even seem to live in this region of the world.
That's really something! But if they're legendary... shouldn't there be, well, legends about them? Like some kind of stories, or legends, or-or something. Have you asked any of the...
[Aaand she trails off as she remembers just how useless the townsfolk are]
Nevermind. But are there any books you can check out? I mean, this place is weird, but it doesn't look that different from home - except for the pokemon. Maybe there's a library or something like that around here.
[Though after what the three beasts showed up last time, she's starting to be more willing to believe what the stories say as being fact. But there are some legends that just seem way too wild to be accurate.]
And the ones that could do something like this, like Palkia, who supposedly controls space, I don't think there's anything but rumor about.
Re: [Video]
So, they're just like our pokemon, but stronger. And if one of them is responsible...
[Thinking, thinking]
This may sound weird, but are there any pokemon who can move stuff around? Like, you blink, and- [snaps] It's gone off somewhere else. I mean, normal pokemon, the kind that we all have.
And I can tell where your thoughts are going. There are a few Psychic Legendaries.
[Scratches the back of her head]
But you said you had evidence that these Legendaries exist, right? What kind of evidence was it?
[Of course, they are, but Twilight's well known for playing it cautious.]
Anyway, the ones that I know to be real are Raikou, Entei, and Suicune, the three Legendary Beasts of Johto. There's a lot of information about them in Ecruteak city, but it might take a while for you to get there. Still, none of them are Psychics, so they probably aren't involved in us being here.
[She's half-joking there, but...well, it sounds like weirder things have happened. However, it does make her think of something else]
Though...you said they're elusive, right? What made them come out the last time? I mean, they sound like the kind of creatures that like to keep to themselves.
[She nods at that question, her expression growing very grim.]
They were provoked. A massive amount of pollution in some of the larger cities started to cause environmental damage outside of them, to the point that it created a population explosion of some Poison-type Pokemon literally made from polluted sludge and smog. Suicune moved to clear up the pollution, and the other two followed.
So they only come out when they absolutely have to. Which means...
[glances down]
Which means that finding them might not be worth it after all.
[She wants to go home more than anything right now. But if that's what it took to get the ones from Johto to show up... well, she didn't want to think what would have to happen to make the other ones come out of hiding]
It's way too much to risk just on a hypothesis. Even if we knew what would make one of them move, which we don't, aside from Suicune.
[She shrugs, letting that thought just trail off. She knows it's not encouraging news, but honesty is the best policy. It's what AJ would do.]
So that's where we stand on the Legendaries. What else do you need to know?
[Because after dumping that deluge of cold water on her, the least she can do is answer a few more of the poor girl's questions.]
No, I think I'm good for now. It's just a lot to take in, you know?
[forces a smile]
But thanks. I mean it - you really helped me, Miss...
[shakes her head]
I'm sorry - I just realized that I never got your name.
